We encounter challenges in various aspects of our lives, and these challenges can sometimes be perceived as spiritual attacks. Such attacks may manifest in our finances, where we face crippling setbacks and stagnation in our financial growth. We can also experience difficulties in our relationships, whether in our marriages, friendships, or with important family members. Additionally, spiritual attacks can impact our health, hinder our career development, and create obstacles in establishing and growing our businesses. Each of us has faced these types of challenges in one way or another. In this article, we will discuss how to navigate spiritual attack to emerge victorious.
Imagine this scenario: One day, you find that Satan has launched an attack on your finances. You wake up to discover that you’ve lost your only source of income. From that moment on, you enter a period of intense struggle. You do everything possible to search for job opportunities, think creatively about how to make your savings last, and turn to close friends and relatives to borrow money to meet your family’s needs. This situation illustrates what a spiritual attack can look like.
During times of struggle, we often feel overwhelmed by emotions such as fear, worry, doubt, unbelief, shame, guilt, envy, and jealousy, among others. These intense feelings are indications that we are in an active battle, as they are actually weapons used by Satan in spiritual warfare.
This article discusses what to know and do in an active battlefield.
As children of God, it is essential to understand that nothing happens to us without God’s knowledge and approval. Consider the story of Job in the Bible. In this account, God and Satan discuss Job, and God permits Satan to attack him. However, God sets specific boundaries for this attack.
As God’s children, we must remember that any challenges we face have been allowed by God, and the limits of these challenges have been defined by Him. This means that Satan cannot test us beyond what God has approved. God only permits trials that He knows we either have the capacity to overcome or that, by aligning ourselves with Him, we can develop the strength to endure.
With this in mind, it is important to recognize that in every attack, two strategies are at play. On one side, Satan initiates the attack with his own strategy, objectives, and desired outcomes. On the other side, God’s approval of this attack indicates that He also has a strategy and a desired outcome for you. Our God is not malicious, and we can find comfort in knowing that He has a plan. The Bible assures us that all things work together for good for those who love God. Therefore, as someone who loves God, you can trust that this attack will ultimately work out for your benefit.
Let’s discuss God’s versus Satan’s strategies in every attack. It is essential to understand that while a spiritual attack serves as a battlefield for Satan, it is a classroom for God.
Classroom Vs Battlefield
Whenever Satan seeks to attack our lives, his goal is to bring us to our knees. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Our lives become a battlefield as he launches various attacks against us, targeting us with fear, worry, lack, shame, illness, and more. It’s important to recognize that we are in a war zone and to act accordingly. One should not be complacent in a war zone; instead, we must remain vigilant and alert. This is the time to learn and understand both the enemy’s strategies and God’s strategies to counter these attacks, so that we can align ourselves with God’s plan.
On the other hand, an attack can serve as a classroom where God can teach and train you. His desire is for you not only to overcome this attack but also to grow stronger in spirit through it. God wants your spiritual capacity to expand during times of struggle. This is why He allows attacks to occur; He wants you to benefit from them.
During these challenging seasons, God desires for you to gain a deeper understanding of His character, His love for you, His faithfulness, and His mercy. He also wants to expose the tactics of the enemy. By doing so, you can learn more about the weaknesses of the devil.
The best way to understand an opponent is to engage with them directly, which is why God permits the enemy to attack. This provides you with an opportunity to gain insights about your adversary. The enemy’s power lies in his ability to deceive, and by revealing the devil’s tactics to you during these confrontations, God disarms him and empowers you over your enemy.
