The topic of self-love is widely discussed in the women’s community. Unfortunately, the way we approach this topic is often superficial. We talk about activities like buying ourselves flowers, taking ourselves out on dates, or enjoying a spa day. While these are all valid ways to express self-love, they only scratch the surface and fail to explore the deeper aspects of what true self-love entails. To truly love ourselves, we need to first understand what “self” truly means.
We are more complex than we often realize. Our being consists of three parts, and to truly explore the topic of self-love, we must consider all three. For our self-love to be genuine and impactful, every aspect of our being needs to feel loved. In this blog, we will address each of these three parts and discuss how we can nurture them to ensure that our self-love is effective. By doing so, we can not only meet our goals but also exceed our expectations.
As I mentioned, we are composed of three parts: the human spirit, the soul, and the body. Each part plays a distinct role in shaping who we are. When any of these parts are out of alignment, we can experience dysfunction and a breakdown within ourselves. These three parts need to function both individually and collectively for the system as a whole to thrive and prosper.
The first thing to understand about this system is that it is both integrated and hierarchical. For the system to function effectively, the three parts must work together seamlessly.
Think of it like a household with a father, a mother, and a child. For the household to thrive, the needs of all its members must be addressed and fulfilled. Each member should be aware of their position and understand their roles and responsibilities. If one member is out of sync, the entire household can be negatively affected and will not be as prosperous as it could be.
In every hierarchical system, authority is a significant component. Your Spirit is in charge of the entire system. The Spirit has authority over the Soul, and the Soul has authority over the Body. For you to function effectively, this system of authority must be perfectly aligned. This means that your Spirit needs to hold the position of authority over the Soul, and the Soul must have authority over the Body.
